"I would like to share with you something that happened to me last night, that I feel was a direct result from taking the First Aid Class earlier this year and participating in the Provider Peer Mentoring Program training. On my way home from work, I witnessed a car accident. It was very late and not many people were on the road. I called 911 and reported the accident and alerted them that the driver and his passenger were hurt and bleeding. I went inside the gas station and got clean cloths to apply to the facial lacerations of 2 injured people. The cuts needed to have pressure on them to control the bleeding. I also talked to them, made sure they were okay, and tried to calm the one young lady down; she was quite hysterical. I have never stopped to help before in a situation like this, I contribute it mainly to the classes I took with QC3. I not only knew what to do but I did it! The Mentoring Training has helped me to have confidence in myself and to problem solve quickly and act accordingly. I found that I apply the information I learned and not even realize it until something like the car accident happens. Thank you for having the faith in me that I had the strengths you were looking for. Thank you for all the classes you have offered and for helping me to develop those skills." Denice Alighire
